Well, the decision was made not to extend the deadline until the eleventh because the problem with the site was fixed in an hour rather than two days. I apologize for any confusion. The deadline for voting is back to October 4th at midnight.

Sunday is the start of the internet vote for the ABC Picture Book Competition so last minute efforts are being made to garner votes for Dandelion Snow! Remember you can vote once a day from September 20th through October 4th. Well, as the voting date draws near, efforts to garner more support for Dandelion Snow have been put into high gear. Emails have been sent, calls made, blogging, Facebook, and websites have all been utilized to ask for votes.

If you'd like to jump on the Dandelion Snow bandwagon, you can show your support by spreading the word. Tweet, blog, add a link to Facebook, add a Dandelion Snow button to your site {see below}, and we'd be ever so grateful!

As for the voting:

-You can vote once daily per computer IP address Sept. 20th - Oct. 4th

-Networks (businesses mostly) will have only one IP address, so if you want to approach the people in a company to vote, they will have to do it on their home computer since only one vote will be allowed from that particular business network IP address

-Make sure you have set your computers/internet browser to "allow cookies" or the votes will not register

Meet the Illustrator

Vanessa Roeder is an artist living in the Austin area with her husband Jonathan, children Audrie and Finn, and rambunctious dog Trixie. She spent four years as a muralist until the birth of her second child prompted her to stay at home full time. Inspired by her kids she began painting children’s art and illustrations which she now sells online under the name Nessa Dee. Her artwork is created using a variety of media including acrylic paint, watercolor, and collaged elements.
In addition to pursuing art, Vanessa homeschools her children during the week and on the weekends, teaches Sunday school.
Her love of picture books stemmed from the many hours she spent as a child in the library where her mom worked. She still spends many hours in the library cultivating that same love for picture books in her own children.
